The Life and Times of Plod

Today, I went out on the new bike to the Taff Trail, Halfords finally pulled their fingers out of their arses and got me my bike back. Was an awesome ride, it was pissing down with rain most of the way, and I was soked to the bone, but I had a big smile on my face. I took the car to Taffs Well, parked up rode to the end of the trail, went and had a look at the assembly as I hadn’t seen that in the flesh yet. Then I got on the train, back and drove home. The only bad part was waiting half hour for a train while beginning to get cold. I now have feeling again in my fingers and feet.

I also managed to sort out getting papers delivered yesterday, so this morning I had managed to get the papers read almost before aims had even got up .

Now to do some shopping on wiggle, maybe window again, who knows. Oh i forgot to mention, ant went out and bought himself a nice XC bike, which means we should be able to go out a lot. Here’s a piccie of his old bike in the back and his new in the front.

Saturday, we took the bikes down to Halfords to get them checked out, and for me to get new gear changers after Adrian messed mine up mine on Friday, turns out the eejit didn’t quite understand the power of hydraulic disc brakes. Sunday I went to castle bingo with my family, I didn’t play mind but I just sat there reading the observer listening to my ipod. Yesterday Aims and I went to the National Botanic Garden, which was absolutely brilliant, I urge anyone who hasn’t been to go, I know they are in financial difficulties and I really think that this would be a great loss to Wales and the UK.

Well I didn’t vote today, and I feel like such a hypocrite. I’ve always told people about what a vote means, and said stuff like if you don’t vote you can’t complain, even if you spoil the paper. But alas, in changing houses, the council doesn’t seem to have me on the electoral register, even though I ticked the box, why on earth I need to tick a box I don’t know. I mean surely if you pay council tax, send the guy a card and let him decide on the day. I suppose its still my fault I should have pursued the issue, when the card didn’t come in the post.

Well i bought that bike, and I am very happy. Been about a bit on it but not for long, gonna do a lot over the weekend and hopefully take aims to Brecon. I’ll get some pics together soon for you.

Saturday, finally managed to finish mowing the lawn. I know this sounds like usual personal blog hot air, but the bloody thing took aims and I 6 hours to finish, thats as well as me starting it last week. I got a haircut, I bought a roof rack for the bike, I got my bike to the house, I looked for a cheap bike to commute to work and I filed home in GTD after breaking just about everything. Oh as well as that, aims and I are formally coming round to start planning the big day, so thats quite exciting

Righto Have to go, got loads to do this week, catch up with you soon.

Well I’ve started to introduce the GTD system to my life, and am going at whole hog trying to introduce it all. All i think I need to get is a tickler file, and I should be done, bit I’m not sure if I should go through it all again, I’m not sure if I’ve worked out how to do the next action stuff exactly right, weather or not I should be planning all next actions to the end of a project. That said I’m certainly a lot further into the zone, after spending my morning emptying my complete stuff bucket in the office, and refiling. Now, there’s just the same to do at my home work centre, and I should be away.

Maybe I’ll stop procrastinating now.
